Beyond Vibe Coding
AI code generators can produce impressive prototypes, but getting those prototypes into production at enterprise scale is a different challenge entirely. Empromptu, based in San Francisco, is building a platform where users describe the AI application they want and it auto-generates production-ready software — complete with fine-tuning, codebase integration, governance, data readiness, evaluation, and optimization built directly in.
Co-founded by Shanea Leven and Dr. Sean Robinson, Empromptu raised a $2M pre-seed round led by Precursor Ventures. Leven previously founded CodeSee, a code visualization platform acquired by GitKraken in 2024, and has held engineering roles at Docker, Cloudflare, and Google. She was named to the Inc. Female Founders 500 in 2026. Dr. Robinson brings a PhD in computational astrophysics from the University of Washington.
Production-Grade AI for Regulated Industries
Unlike vibe-coding tools that produce throwaway prototypes, Empromptu targets regulated industries like healthcare, finance, and hospitality where governance and reliability are non-negotiable. The platform has already generated $330K in revenue by helping enterprises bridge the gap between AI experimentation and deployment. By embedding compliance, evaluation, and optimization into the build process from day one, Empromptu is positioning itself as the tool that turns AI ambitions into shipping software.
