Fresh Food, Cooked From Scratch

Most food delivery relies on reheated meals and pre-packaged ingredients. Sizl takes a different approach — every meal is cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients in the company's own dark kitchens in Chicago. Orders are delivered in roughly 30 minutes via electric bikes, combining the convenience of delivery apps with the quality of a home-cooked meal.

Founded by Alex Kolesnikov, Anastasia Kalinkina, Nick Delitski, and Kyrylo Kupin, the team previously built Local Kitchen in Moscow — scaling it to 55 outlets, 25,000 daily orders, and $46 million in annual revenue before relocating from Ukraine in 2022. Sizl raised a $3.5M seed round and currently operates two kitchens with a rotating 60-item menu that changes every two weeks.

Building a Direct-to-Consumer Food Brand

What sets Sizl apart from typical ghost kitchens is its focus on owning the customer relationship. Over 50% of orders come through the company's own app rather than third-party delivery platforms, giving Sizl better margins and direct customer data. The company is now expanding beyond Chicago into Boston, Charlotte, and the San Francisco Bay Area, aiming to prove that cook-to-order delivery can scale nationally while maintaining quality.
